Target the Abs

Different ab exercises work different muscles. There are  numerous ab exercises out there, including those for weight lifters, yoga folks, dancers, etc. Here are a few I’ve found that I’d like to incorporate into my own workouts, in addition to the core yoga/Pilate exercises (that I’ve been really good about not doing).

Runner’s World also has some great ab exercises for runners. These include:

  • Side Planks
  • Bird Dogs
  • Back Extensions
  • Swiss Hip Extension (with ball)
  • Lateral Bends
  • Turkish Get Up (from sitting position)
  • Body Curls (hanging)
  • Double Leg Hops
