Paleo Day 17

Posted by cavewomanrunner on November 6, 2008

Back to my schedule! I ran 8 miles today in the cold and dark – and it felt great! I’m loving my new running and eating regimine. I feel so much better! Now if only I can cut out those darn banana chips. I’m going to dry my own bananas to avoid all of the sugars and oils from the processed ones! That should help, and I need to keep watching my protein intake. It was rather low today, with lots of carbs and fats – good fats, yes. And the carbs I don’t mind since I ran 8 miles.

My rough estimates:
Protein (ideal 20-25%): 11% (previous days: 35-13-22-29-41-25-28-30-24-26-32-30-19-20-16-25-26)
Carbs (ideal 50-60%): 41% (previous days: 37-75-27-24-24-30-38-50-57-31-25-41-47-65-54-33-27)
Fat (ideal 20-30%): 48% (previous days: 28-12-51-47-35-45-34-20-19-43-43-29-34-15-29-42-47)

    Hi,

I just came across your blog and it is great to read how other runners are getting along while following a Paleo Diet.

I had great success following the Primal Challenge before achieving my goal of running a sub 3 hour marathon and following it up 2 weeks later setting a course record on a 90km trail ultra. I found I had enough energy to run 80+ miles per week and race well. Details about my experience can be found on my blog (primalrunner.blogspot.com).

I have just returned from Thailand and am back on the Primal Diet and running again now.

Look forward to following your progress. Should help to keep me motivated.

    Cheers,
    Branden
